Summer Camp Staff

Click here for a map to the different summer camps.

Do you want to spend the summer outdoors? Do you want to teach Scout skills? Do you want to make new friends and have life-long memories? Then you need to apply for summer camp staff. The success of a troop's week at summer camp is many times determined by the quality of the staff. If you are a Scout who will be 15 years old and an Eagle Scout by June 1, then you should apply for camp staff.

Camp staff provides a great opportunity for a young man to broaden his Scouting contacts, improve his leadership skills, and serve the thousands of Webelos, Scouts, Explorers, Venturers, and leaders who attend our camps each year.

Position Minimum Requirements:

  • Counselor (S bar F, Camp May & Lewallen) age 15 and an Eagle Scout

  • Program Counselor (Swift) age 18

  • Administrative Aides age 15 and Life Scout

  • Food Service (S bar F) age 15

  • Area Directors (Scoutcraft, Nature, and Archery)

  • First Aider/Nurse (Camp May & Lewallen) age 18

Applications for camp staff can be secured at any council service center or the download here in PDF format. Applicants will be interviewed during the month of December at the MacArthur Boy Scout Center, 4568 West Pine Boulevard, the Ritter Service Center in Cape Girardeau, and the Herrin Service Center. We encourage applicants for particular camps to interview during the last week of December.
